Boron nitride is a silky, white mineral [yes, it is a NOT a chemical even though it sounds like one] and it is added as an additive to improve the "slip" (i.e how smoothly the product applies) as well as "adhesion" (i.e how long it stays on the skin) of the mineral makeup which can range from foundations, blushes, eyeshadows and concealers.
But it is not for everybody... some people do break out as they do with bismuth... I guess it got to do with the percentage of boron nitride used in the mineral makeup????
