I have a question g.gif
When I wrote about my English group before: "Not big group" - you corrected: " Not a big group"...Yes?

When I wrote about my mistakes: Not a big but they are MISTAKES - you corrected: "Not big but they are MISTAKES"  g.gif

Why??? In the first sentence this a is necessary but in the second - no...I don't unterstand schmoll.gif

It's because you don't use a noun after big, and when an adjective stands alone, we don't use articles. 4u.gif

I attempt to explain these grammar rules to you.
A, an and the are articles
Mistakes are noun plural.
I think you know when we use articles and when we use nouns plural.

Hello everybody 4u.gif
May I join your conversations?

I personaly think that English is an amazing language, and love various sayings of famous people, especially quotations by Oscar Wild (and of course his book The portrait of Dorian Gray") one of my favourite quotations is "always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys themso much".

and a quotation that always makes me smile is "I've been on callendar, but never on time" (Marilyn Monroe)
